So you want to get in front of as many people as you possibly can to promote your business, but you have a slight problem getting your name out there? If your problem is something ethical or philosophical against putting a sign on a telephone pole or by the curb on the street corner, there are ways to succeed without crossing your own personal boundaries. Follow a few simple tips and leave all of your worries and preconceived notions about this type of marketing behind.
First, it is important to remember that you are in the world of real estate investing; meaning you are in real estate, in turn meaning that everybody you are selling to or buying from is also looking at real estate. What I am trying to say is that you should advertise in the yards of the homes you are already attempting to sell first, after all, they are your properties and you won’t be breaking any laws. This will get the interest of the neighborhood and passers-by, possibly sparking interest in your product or concept.
Second, make an intriguing offer to people who live in high traffic areas to get your sign put in their yard. Offer to pay them a certain amount every month, to clean the street corner of trash, to mow their lawn during summer, or shovel snow during the winter. This shows that you are willing to put yourself out there to the people to further your business. Endearing yourself to people never hurts because people like to talk to other people and share who they know, let them know you!
Finally, offer those closest to you (family and friends) something in return for letting you post signs in their yard or give them business cards to pass out to anybody they know “at the office” who is looking to buy or sell. Networking works for a reason, the people know you and they feel comfortable with you, but this can’t happen if you aren’t willing to put yourself in an area to be seen. Follow these tips and you will be a massive success in real estate investing in no time!
